The Modator 2U Chassis

The new Modator 2U chassis is designed to fit standard rack deployments and has slots for up to 10 modules. Users can configure frame network settings and monitor the status of the chassis and installed modules through the integrated 4.8-inch LED touchscreen or browser-based web interface. Dual power supplies and optimized heat dissipation enable reliable 24/7 operation.

The Modator Modules

The hot-swappable Modator modules each offer their own network connectivity and can work independently to convert between baseband video/audio signals and IP streams. Every module is equipped with a web-based management interface, and both the Modator 2U frame and the installed modules can be centrally configured, managed, and monitored using Magewell’s optional Control Hub management software.

The first four Modator modules all support NDI^® video connectivity technology. Initial modules include:

• Pro Convert HDMI Plus Module: encodes HDMI input signals into high-definition IP streams in the NDI High Bandwidth format
• Pro Convert HDMI 4K Plus Module: encodes HDMI input signals into NDI High Bandwidth at up to 4K (4096×2160) resolution at 60 frames per second
• Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI Module: decodes IP streams up to 2560×1440 in a wide range of formats (including NDI High Bandwidth, NDI HX2, NDI HX3, TVU ISSP, and H.264 or H.265 delivered via RTMP, RTSP, HLS, MPEG-TS and more) for HDMI output
• The Pro Convert for NDI to AIO Module offers identical decoding capabilities as the Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI Module, while additionally providing simultaneous HDMI and SDI outputs at resolutions of up to 1080p60.

The Pro Convert for NDI to AIO Module is a versatile device that allows users to convert a live NDI® stream into HDMI and SDI outputs. It is designed for use with the Magewell Modator chassis and can be easily installed as a hot-swappable module.

Key features of the Pro Convert for NDI® to AIO Module include:
– Decodes high-bandwidth NDI and NDI HX streams, as well as earlier variants, into HDMI and SDI outputs
– Can be centrally managed through the Modator chassis and Magewell Control Hub

This module is ideal for professional broadcasting and production environments where NDI® technology is used for streaming and transmitting video content.
