About this product

The Pro Convert HDMI Plus encodes a 4K60 HDMI source into full-bandwidth NDI at 4:2:0 chroma. It is the price-conscious 4K NDI encoder — for workflows that need the resolution and frame rate but where 4:2:0 (the same chroma subsampling used by HDR Blu-ray, Netflix and most cinema delivery) is the right trade-off.

The vast majority of camera output is already 4:2:0 internally, so for most camera-source workflows there is no visible difference between this and the more expensive HDMI 4K Plus. The 4:4:4 step up only matters when colour-critical graphics or computer screen content are part of the source.

Like other Pro Convert encoders this is a standalone PoE-powered appliance — no host PC required. Configured via a web UI or Magewell Control Hub.
