Capture · Record · Stream · Encode · DecodeThe Director Mini is a portable, all-in-one live production switcher with a 5.44-inch AMOLED touchscreen. It takes HDMI, USB and network sources, switches between them, adds graphics, and streams and records the result, with no computer needed at any stage.
Two HDMI 2.0 inputs accept camera or computer sources up to 4096×2160 at 60 frames per second. Its USB 3.0 ports, two Type-A and one Type-C, take up to two USB video sources such as webcams at up to 1080p60. Over Ethernet or Wi-Fi it can bring in up to three network sources at once, using NDI (High Bandwidth, HX2 or HX3), SRT, RTMP or RTSP. The Director Utility App also lets a phone camera act as a source.
The touchscreen handles scene switching, with fade, dip and DVE transitions, and graphics overlays, in one interface. Chroma key, crop, a scoreboard and timer, replay and PTZ camera control are built in, with no separate control surface needed. It can also be controlled from the Director Utility App or a Web UI.
The Director Mini streams to up to four destinations at once. YouTube, Twitch and Facebook Live are supported directly, along with SRT, RTMP, RTMPS and RTSP, and it can output NDI HX3 to the local network. It encodes H.264 or H.265 at up to 1080p60. While streaming it records to 64 GB of internal storage or an SD card (not supplied) as MP4 or MOV, and can record two sources separately.
The Director Mini sits between a single-source streaming encoder such as the Ultra Stream and a full software production computer. If you need to switch between several sources, add simple graphics and stream, all without a computer, it fills that gap. It runs from the supplied mains adapter or two NP-F batteries (not supplied).
