Magewell Pro Capture PCIe cards
The Pro Capture range of PCIe cards, section by section: HDMI, SDI, all-in-one, DVI and analogue, from single-channel cards to multi-input 4K models.
Watch on YouTubeIf the source in your room is HDMI one day and SDI the next, the Pro Capture AIO 4K saves you fitting or stocking two cards. It suits integrators, rental stock and production PCs where the connector changes from job to job. “AIO” means all-in-one: this 4K capture card carries both an HDMI input and an SDI input, and you capture from whichever one the job calls for.
The two input connectors feed one capture channel. You capture SDI with its embedded audio, or HDMI with its embedded audio, so you can change source type without opening the computer. To capture two sources at once, see the two-channel cards in the Pro Capture range.
The HDMI input handles a wide range of signal types, which gives you room to capture at higher bit depths as well as standard 8-bit:
As a guide, 297 MHz is the pixel rate of a 4K picture at 30 frames per second in standard HDMI timings, and 6G-SDI is the SDI rate normally used for 4K at up to 30. A 4K source running at 60 frames per second needs HDMI 2.0, which the Pro Capture AIO 4K Plus has (594 MHz receiver). Ask us to confirm the format for your source.
The card does part of the video work itself, before the pictures reach your software. That frees the computer's processor for encoding, mixing or recording:
Magewell supplies drivers for Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows Server 2016 to 2025, for Linux on x86, x64 and ARM, and for Mac OS X 10.9 / macOS 10.12 and above. The card then appears through the standard capture interfaces of each system: DirectShow on Windows, V4L2 and ALSA on Linux, AVCaptureSession on macOS. That means you can use it with VLC, OBS, XSplit, vMix and Wirecast among others, and there is an SDK for developers building their own application.
It is a low profile PCIe x4 card measuring 92.79 × 68.43 mm without its bracket, with a low profile bracket in the box, so it suits compact computers as well as full-size ones. A 16-position rotary switch numbers each card, so you can tell them apart when several share one computer. The firmware can be upgraded without a system power shutdown, and the card is built for continuous 24-hour, 7-day operation. Maximum power consumption is about 5.29 W, a small draw on the PC's supply.

It is a one-channel card: it captures SDI with embedded audio, or HDMI with embedded audio, whichever you select. That lets one card serve either kind of source. For two sources at once, choose a two-channel card from the Pro Capture range.
Two: an HDMI connector (HDMI 1.4, also accepting DVI-D 1.0 signals) and a BNC connector for SD, HD, 3G and 6G-SDI. Audio arrives embedded in either signal, so one cable does the job. Both connectors are digital inputs: there is no analogue input or loop-through output, and the SDI input goes up to 6G-SDI rather than 12G.
The Pro Capture AIO 4K Plus, which has an HDMI 2.0 input and a 594 MHz receiver. The Pro Capture AIO 4K has an HDMI 1.4 input with a 297 MHz receiver.
The HDMI input works at pixel rates up to 297 MHz and the SDI input up to 6G. As a guide, both are normally associated with 4K at up to 30 frames per second. Ask us to confirm the format for your source.
A slot that takes an x4 card. It is a low profile PCIe x4 add-on card with a PCIe Gen2 x4 host interface, and the low profile bracket in the box lets it go into compact cases.
Windows 10, 11 and Server 2016 to 2025, Linux on x86, x64 and ARM, and Mac OS X 10.9 / macOS 10.12 and above. It is used through DirectShow on Windows, V4L2 on Linux and AVCaptureSession on macOS, so software such as VLC, OBS, XSplit, vMix and Wirecast can use it as a standard capture device.
