Magewell Pro Capture PCIe cards
The Pro Capture range of PCIe cards, section by section: HDMI, SDI, all-in-one, DVI and analogue, from single-channel cards to multi-input 4K models.
Watch on YouTubeTwo 4K sources, two screens that must stay live, and one free slot in the PC: that is the job the Pro Capture Dual HDMI 4K Plus LT is built for. It suits live production, lecture theatres and event rigs where a camera and a presentation both need capturing and showing. It is a two-channel 4K capture card that takes two HDMI signals, each with its embedded audio, and makes both available to software on that computer at the same time. “LT” stands for loop-through: each input has its own HDMI output that passes the source on, so capture and live viewing happen together.
In practice that means two sources, such as two cameras or a camera and a presentation computer, captured in one slot, with each source still feeding its own screen and no separate splitter to buy, power or mount.
This is a normal profile PCIe x8 card, 127.89 × 102.92 mm without bracket, so plan for a full-height slot that takes an x8 card. For a low profile chassis, the single-input HDMI 4K Plus LT is the one to choose. Maximum power consumption is about 22 W.
Each input is HDMI 2.0 with a 594 MHz receiver, the signal type used for 4K at 60 frames per second, and takes resolutions up to 4096×2160. Capture frame rates go up to 144 fps, depending on PCIe bandwidth and image resolution. If you plan to run both inputs at the highest formats together, ask us and we will confirm it for your setup first.
The card does part of the video work itself, before the pictures reach your software. That keeps your processor free for mixing, encoding and recording:
Magewell supplies drivers for Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows Server 2016 to 2025, for Linux on x86, x64 and ARM (kernel 2.6.35 and above), and for Mac OS X 10.9 / macOS 10.12 and above. The card is then used through the standard capture interfaces of each system: DirectShow on Windows, V4L2 and ALSA on Linux, AVCaptureSession on macOS. It works with VLC, OBS, XSplit, vMix and Wirecast among others, and there is an SDK for developers.
Choose this card when you have two HDMI sources and want both looped to screens. For a single HDMI input with loop-through on a low profile card, see the HDMI 4K Plus LT. For two SDI channels, see the Dual SDI 4K Plus. The whole family is on the Pro Capture page.

It is a normal profile PCIe x8 add-on card, 127.89 × 102.92 mm without bracket, so it needs a full-height slot. For a low profile chassis, choose the single-input HDMI 4K Plus LT.
A slot that takes an x8 card. The host interface is PCIe Gen2 x8, which carries both channels to your software.
Yes. There are two HDMI inputs and two HDMI loop-through outputs, each passing its source and embedded audio on, so each source can still feed its own screen.
Each input is HDMI 2.0 with a 594 MHz receiver, the signal type used for 4K 60 fps, at resolutions up to 4096×2160. Capture frame rate depends on PCIe bandwidth and image resolution, so ask us to confirm the combination you need on both inputs.
Yes, it supports HDR10, along with 8, 10 and 12-bit colour depths.
Windows 10, 11 and Server 2016 to 2025, Linux on x86, x64 and ARM with kernel 2.6.35 and above, and Mac OS X 10.9 / macOS 10.12 and above. It is used through DirectShow on Windows, V4L2 on Linux and AVCaptureSession on macOS, so software such as VLC, OBS, XSplit, vMix and Wirecast can use it.
