Magewell Pro Capture PCIe cards
The Pro Capture range of PCIe cards, section by section: HDMI, SDI, all-in-one, DVI and analogue, from single-channel cards to multi-input 4K models.
Watch on YouTubeBuilding a kiosk, an industrial controller or a small-form-factor PC that has to take in an HDMI picture? When there is no room for a standard card, the Pro Capture Mini HDMI does the job from the Mini PCIe slot, the small internal card slot found in compact, industrial and embedded computers. It is a one-channel HDMI capture card that brings one HDMI source into the computer, small enough for the tightest enclosures.
The card goes into a Mini PCIe slot and is fixed through its mounting hole. Then install Magewell’s driver. Software sees the card through the standard capture interfaces of the operating system: DirectShow on Windows, V4L2 on Linux and AVCaptureSession on macOS. That lets you use familiar programs including VLC, OBS, XSplit, vMix, VidBlaster and Wirecast, or your own application. Supported systems are Windows 10, 11 and Server 2016 to 2025, Linux with kernel 2.6.35 or later on x86, x64 and ARM, and Mac OS X 10.9 or later.
This is the Mini PCIe card for HDMI. Its SDI counterpart is the Pro Capture Mini SDI. If your computer has a standard PCIe slot, see the Pro Capture HDMI and the rest of the Pro Capture range. For an M.2 slot, see Eco Capture.

A Mini PCIe slot. The card is 30 × 51 mm, a different shape from the x1, x4 and x16 slots in a desktop PC. For a standard desktop slot, choose a full-size card from the Pro Capture range.
A full-size HDMI type A socket, on the end of the supplied 31 cm breakout cable, so an ordinary HDMI lead fits. The cable plugs into the 20-pin JST SHD header on the card. The connection is an input; there is no loop-through output.
2048×2160 pixels for input and capture. The maximum at 1920×1080 is about 80 frames per second, so 1080p at 60 frames per second is supported. For 3840×2160 sources, see the rest of the Pro Capture range.
About 3.24 W maximum with the high-performance firmware, or about 2.7 W maximum with the low-power firmware. It comes from the 3.3 V supply of the Mini PCIe slot, so the card needs no separate power connection.
Windows 10, 11 and Server 2016 to 2025, Linux (kernel 2.6.35 and above, on x86, x64 and ARM) and Mac OS X 10.9 or later, through DirectShow, V4L2 and AVCaptureSession. Software that uses those interfaces sees the card as a capture device.
The card comes with a choice of three heat sinks, each under its own SKU. Tell us about your enclosure and we will confirm which version suits it.
