About this product
The Ultra Encode SDI Plus is the Ultra Encode SDI plus professional XLR audio I/O. For broadcast facilities and live-production venues with balanced XLR audio infrastructure, this combines SDI-to-IP encoding with proper audio integration in one box.
The SDI signal carries embedded audio (up to 16 channels) but in many facilities the production mix happens externally on a dedicated audio console — not in the SDI embedder. The XLR inputs let that external mix feed directly into the encoded stream, replacing the SDI-embedded audio if needed. XLR output lets the encoder feed audio back to monitoring infrastructure.
Common in broadcast facilities where audio and video chains are managed separately, in sports productions where commentary audio is mixed at the OB position rather than embedded into camera SDI, and in live-event productions with dedicated FOH consoles.
