Magewell Pro Convert family
NDI encoders, NDI decoders, IP and multiview decoders and AES67 audio converters: getting video and audio onto the network and off again, with no computer at either end.
Watch on YouTubeYour vision mixer, router and monitors speak SDI, but more and more of your sources arrive over the network. The Pro Convert for NDI to SDI lets you use both without replacing either. It is an NDI to SDI converter that takes a video stream from your network and puts it on an SDI cable, linking IP video to the SDI equipment most studios and venues already own: vision mixers, routers, multiviewers, recorders and monitors. Connect it to the network, run a BNC cable to the SDI input, choose a source, and the stream arrives as an ordinary SDI signal.
The output is a single BNC carrying SD-SDI, HD-SDI or 3G-SDI, at up to 1920×1080 and 60 frames per second. 3G-SDI Level A and Level B are both supported, so it suits older SDI equipment that accepts only one of them. The 3G-SDI cable run is more than 100 metres, so the decoder can sit at the network switch with a long coaxial run to the equipment it feeds.
Up to eight channels of 48 kHz audio are embedded in the SDI signal, so there is no separate audio cable to run, and CEA-608 closed captions (including 608 carried in 708) are supported on the output.
If the destination is a display with an HDMI input, the Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI is the same decoder with an HDMI output. For 4K streams and 12G-SDI, see the Pro Convert IP to AIO 4K. You can also compare all Pro Convert decoders side by side.

It lets SDI equipment take IP sources. It receives a video stream from the network (NDI High Bandwidth, NDI HX, HX2 or HX3, SRT, RTMP, RTSP, HLS or MPEG-TS) and outputs it as SD, HD or 3G-SDI on a BNC connector, so IP sources can feed SDI mixers, routers and monitors.
The SDI output runs at up to 1920×1080 at 60 frames per second (3G-SDI). The decoder accepts sources up to 2048×1080 at 60 fps.
Yes, both are supported, along with SD-SDI and HD-SDI, so it suits equipment that accepts only one of the two levels.
Standard PoE (IEEE 802.3af) is enough, and it draws about 5.5 W, so one network cable can carry the stream and the power. If your switch has no PoE, power it from the USB power adapter supplied in the box.
Yes, up to eight channels at 48 kHz, so sound arrives on the same BNC cable. CEA-608 closed captions are also supported on the output.
It decodes one source at a time. For multiview on one output, see the Pro Convert IP to AIO 4K.
