Magewell Pro Convert family
NDI encoders, NDI decoders, IP and multiview decoders and AES67 audio converters: getting video and audio onto the network and off again, with no computer at either end.
Watch on YouTubeYou have SDI cameras that work well and a production that is moving to NDI. The Pro Convert SDI Plus lets you keep the cameras. This SDI to NDI converter takes one SDI source, such as a broadcast camera, and puts it on your network as an NDI stream. SDI is the single-coax video connection used on professional cameras. NDI is a way of sending live video between devices and software over an ordinary Ethernet network. The box works on its own, with no computer, and its loop-through passes the SDI signal on to other equipment at the same time.
The Pro Convert SDI TX has the same 2048×1080 60 fps limit and the same 16-channel audio in a smaller case. Choose the Plus when you want the SDI loop-through. For 4K see the Pro Convert SDI 4K Plus (6G-SDI) and the Pro Convert 12G SDI 4K Plus. For HDMI sources see the Pro Convert HDMI Plus. All models are on the Pro Convert encoders page.

It works on its own as a standalone encoder. Connect the source and the network and it appears as an NDI source. Settings are changed from a browser through the Web UI.
The SDI input and loop-through accept SD, HD and 3G-SDI up to 2048×1080 at 60 fps. The NDI stream is encoded at up to 2048×1080 at 60 fps, 4:2:2 8-bit. For 6G or 12G-SDI sources, see the Pro Convert SDI 4K Plus and the Pro Convert 12G SDI 4K Plus.
Both take up to 2048×1080 at 60 fps and carry 16 audio channels. The SDI Plus adds an SDI loop-through, so your SDI equipment stays fed, and is in a larger case (117.5 × 66.7 × 23.4 mm against 100.9 × 60.2 × 23.3 mm).
NDI High Bandwidth, with NDI 6.2 support. For NDI HX, SRT, RTMP, RTSP, HLS, H.264 or H.265, see the Ultra Encode range.
By standard PoE (IEEE 802.3af) through the network cable, which means one cable for power and video, or by 5 V through its USB Type-B port from the supplied 5 V / 2.1 A adaptor. It draws about 7 W at most.
The encoder, a USB 2.0 Type-A to Type-B cable, a 5 V / 2.1 A power adaptor, a Mini-DIN 8 breakout cable, a tally light and an L-bracket.
Yes. It controls a PTZ camera through NDI using VISCA, VISCA over UDP, PELCO-P and PELCO-D, so camera control travels over the network with the video.
