Magewell Pro Convert family
NDI encoders, NDI decoders, IP and multiview decoders and AES67 audio converters: getting video and audio onto the network and off again, with no computer at either end.
Watch on YouTubeAt a camera position, space and sockets are both short. The Pro Convert SDI TX is made for that spot: it is the smallest of the SDI encoders, and a single network cable can power it and carry its video. It takes one SDI source, such as a broadcast camera, and puts it on your network as an NDI stream. SDI is the single-coax video connection used on professional cameras. NDI is a way of sending live video between devices and software over an ordinary Ethernet network. The box works on its own, with no computer, and its single SDI input makes it a tidy fit beside the camera.
The Pro Convert SDI Plus has the same 2048×1080 60 fps limit and adds an SDI loop-through in a slightly larger case. For 4K see the Pro Convert SDI 4K Plus (6G-SDI) and the Pro Convert 12G SDI 4K Plus. For an HDMI source in the same small case, see the Pro Convert HDMI TX. All models are on the Pro Convert encoders page.

It works on its own as a standalone encoder. Connect the source and the network and it appears as an NDI source. Settings are changed from a browser through the Web UI.
The SDI input accepts SD, HD and 3G-SDI up to 2048×1080 at 60 fps. The NDI stream is encoded at up to 2048×1080 at 60 fps, 4:2:2 8-bit. For 6G or 12G-SDI sources, see the Pro Convert SDI 4K Plus and the Pro Convert 12G SDI 4K Plus.
This compact model has a single SDI input. For SDI loop-through, choose the Pro Convert SDI Plus.
16 channels of SDI embedded audio in, and 16 channels encoded into the NDI stream, so the full set arrives with the picture.
NDI High Bandwidth, with NDI 6.2 support. For NDI HX, SRT, RTMP, RTSP, HLS, H.264 or H.265, see the Ultra Encode range.
By standard PoE (IEEE 802.3af) through the network cable, so one network cable carries power and video, or by 5 V through its USB Type-B port from the supplied 5 V / 2.1 A adaptor. It draws about 7 W at most.
The encoder, a USB 2.0 Type-A to Type-B cable, a 5 V / 2.1 A power adaptor, a Mini-DIN 8 breakout cable, a tally light and an L-bracket.
