Capture Express V3.2

Magewell Capture Express V3.2 - The version 3.0 initially offered easy recording and previewing functionality, and the subsequent version 3.1 added the ability to stream H.264-encoded video using the RTMP protocol. Now, version 3.2 further expands the software’s streaming flexibility with support for the SRT protocol as well as MPEG-TS over UDP or RTP. Enabling secure, reliable, low-latency video delivery over unpredictable networks, SRT ensures high-quality streaming experiences even over the public internet. Magewell is a member of the SRT Alliance.

Magewell Capture Express V3.2 offers a simple, dedicated tool for recording or previewing input sources. Originally designed to let users easily verify their input signals and capture devices, Capture Express has evolved into a simple yet full-fledged capture application supporting video recording up to 4K at 60 frames per second.

Capture Express 3.2 automatically detects compatible graphics hardware in the host system and leverages GPU-accelerated H.264 encoding when possible, using the CPU for encoding only as necessary. Capture Express runs on the Windows operating system and is compatible with all current Magewell capture product lines -- including USB Capture Gen 2 and USB Capture Plus external devices; Pro Capture PCIe cards; and Eco Capture M.2 hardware -- as well as Magewell's first-generation capture cards and boxes.

Record at 4K60

Capture Express records one channel of video as mp4 files to your local storage. Users can customize the resolution, frame rate, bitrate and color space of the recording, or simply choose “match source” for easy setting. Capture Express uses H.264 encoding format for video compression

Single-frame, burst and periodic mode

Users can take one or five continuous snapshots by simply one click, or take snapshots by self-defined time interval.

Video Processing Functions

The software provides various video processing functions such as cropping, up/down scaling, brightness/hue/saturation/contrast control. These processing functions are done by the FPGA in the capture hardware with 0 CPU usage.

No-boarder Mode

One click to switch to no-border Mode for capture preview. Users can display multiple Capture Express borderless windows on one screen, so that they can preview the seamless video splicing.

Software Update

Capture Express V3.1 keeps updating, providing users with more professional and advanced functions to improve the video capture and recording experience.Capture Express V2 has ceased to update, users are recommended to update to V3.1.

Software encoder is compatible with the various environments. There are 3 kinds of coding quality: High Quality, Balanced and Best Speed. The higher the coding quality is, the better the video quality is. However, CPU usage will also increase.
Hardware encoder is based on Intel Quick Sync technology and greatly reduces CPU usage. However, it only runs in a limited number of environments. It can achieve better effect when encoding low bit rate video.

Live Streaming

Users can use RTMP protocol for live streaming. It is compatible with a variety of RTMP server such as Flash Media Server, Red 5, Wowza, NGINX, etc.
